Retro Restore is a quick, free, no-nonsense tool for upscaling videos with AI right in the browser. There is no software to install and no registration required. You choose a video, and your browser does all of the AI upscaling and video processing locally — nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Paid tools like Topaz Labs are excellent but overkill for casual use, while open-source projects like Video2X need a lot of setup. This tool is designed to be quick, simple and free.
It is based on the open-source WebSR SDK, which ports AI super-resolution algorithms like Anime4K to WebGPU and applies them to every frame of your video. It works particularly well on animated content.
