About The Retro Database

A community-built archive dedicated to preserving the movies, TV shows and games that defined retro pop culture.

What TRDB Is

The Retro Database (TRDB) is a reference archive for retro entertainment. We catalogue and document movies, television shows and video games released in 2015 and earlier, building detailed, well-organised pages packed with cast and crew details, release information, trivia, facts and community discussion. Think of us as an encyclopedia for nostalgia — a single place to look up, learn about, and reminisce over the classics.

What We Are Not

TRDB is not a streaming service and we do not host any video or game files ourselves. Where it is possible and permitted, we embed content from official, licensed or public-domain third-party sources — such as official channels on YouTube and Dailymotion, YouTube's free ad-supported library, and legally archived public-domain material on Archive.org. Where embedding is not available, we simply link back to the official source. All embedded and linked content remains the property of its respective owners, who retain full control of the underlying files on their own platforms.

Respecting Rights Holders

We take copyright seriously. Because we only index publicly available material from third-party platforms, rights holders can request the removal of any listing from our index at any time through our Copyright Removal page. We review every legitimate request and act promptly.

Who We Are

TRDB is built and maintained by a dedicated team of two — lifelong fans of retro film, TV and gaming who started this project out of a genuine love for the era. We pour our spare time into curating the archive, keeping it accurate, and growing it page by page.
