Synopsis
A teenager from Earth, is brought to another universe known as Videoland to defeat the evil villainess, Mother Brain, as foretold in an Ancient Prophecy.
Trivia about Captain N: The Game Master
The character of Captain N first appeared in Nintendo Power magazine, created by Nintendo staff member and magazine editor Randy Studdard.
The original concept involved Captain N, originally known as Captain Nintendo, a Nintendo employee who had the power to temporarily bring characters and items from Nintendo games to life.
Captain N was never called Captain Nintendo due to legal concerns from the Children's Television Act of 1990, which called for bans on program-length commercials.
Though the show had an open-ended ending, as Mother Brain is defeated but Captain N vows to stop her when she returns, Nintendo of America decided to follow Studdard's ideas and create a cartoon series, opting to neither credit nor compensate its creator.
In the early stages of development, the character of Paperboy from the game of the same name was intended to be the protagonist, and the series was initially going to be titled Buddy Boy.
In Season 2, Game Boy, a human-sized supercomputer, joins the N Team.
